Hall of Fame former Louisville men's basketball coach Denny Crum suffered what doctors suspect was a mild stroke Wednesday while fishing in Alaska but is doing well at a hospital there, his wife told WFPL in Louisville.

Crum, 80, was airlifted to Anchorage and underwent tests at Providence Hospital, Susan Crum said, but was improving enough that he could be released as soon as this weekend.

In 30 seasons at Louisville, Crum was 675-295 (.696) and won two national titles, in 1980 and '86.

He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994 and retired after the 2000-01 season.
