The Canterbury Bulldogs' clash against the Sydney Roosters has been pushed back due to a coronavirus scare.

A teacher at a school attended by one of prop Aiden Tolman's children tested positive for COVID-19, leading to the game being delayed until Monday.

The NRL said Tolman has been placed into isolation and will be tested for coronavirus.

The Bulldogs will now host the Roosters at Bankwest Stadium on Monday, while the St George Illawarra Dragons' clash with the Cronulla Sharks has been brought forward from 18:30 local time (08:30 GMT) to 16:05 (06:05 GMT).

"There's a very remote risk of infection within the Bulldogs squad," Australian Rugby League Commission (ARLC) chairman Peter V'landys said.

"To ensure there is no risk at all, the player will be tested today and the game delayed until tomorrow to ensure the test results have returned. I want to congratulate the Bulldogs for swiftly informing the NRL.

"I want to thank our broadcast partners for their assistance, at very short notice, in changing the schedule. The changes will ensure our fans will still be able to watch a game on free-to-air television this afternoon."

The Bulldogs have lost three of their opening four games of the season, while the Roosters are 2-2.
