C.J. McCollum sets Trail Blazers record with 28 first-quarter points

C.J. McCollum torched the nets early Wednesday against the Bulls, leading to a new Trail Blazers franchise record.

McCollum poured in 28 points in the first quarter — on 9-of-10 shooting from the field — leading to a new Portland franchise record for points scored in the first quarter.

The 28 points were also the most scored by any player in a single quarter so far this season. McCollum entered the game averaging 21.4 points per game.
