Canelo v GGG II: Andrade & Jacobs want different results, for very similar reasons

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin are set for a blockbuster rematch on Saturday and two fellow middleweights, Demetrius Andrade and Daniel Jacobs, are hoping for differing outcomes.

After the contentious draw in September last year, Canelo and GGG will resume hostilities in Las Vegas this weekend, a bout that was initially delayed by the Mexican's doping suspension.

Canelo claimed the adverse clenbuterol finding was due to eating contaminated meat in his homeland - a notion Golovkin subsequently dismissed as "nonsense".

Next month, Andrade (25-0) will attempt to take the WBO belt off Billy Joe Saunders - who had been touted as a possible opponent for Golovkin had the Canelo rematch fallen through.

Meanwhile Jacobs (34-2), beaten by Golovkin in a unanimous points decision in March 2017, is due to take on Sergiy Derevianchenko for the vacant IBF strap.

And both men are looking for a future date with the fighter whom they hope will emerge victorious on Saturday.

"If I had to pick a fighter it would be GGG because I believe he still has enough years in the game where he could possibly be a fight of mine and somebody that would take that challenge," Andrade said.

"Canelo, I'm not too sure he would take that challenge with me. May the best man win."

"I think it'll be a repeat of the last fight, I think GGG will win and I think he'll be given the victory and if he do what he needs to do, and make adjustments off the last fight [he will win]," said Jacobs.

"But in a perfect world I would want Canelo to win, as I win my next fight and [then] me and Canelo fight and I give GGG the rematch...that would be the perfect scenario for me as I do feel I was the victim during the GGG fight.

"That would make me the superior king in the division if I can beat both guys and prove to the world that I am the best."
