Bennett names five uncapped players in England squad

Wakefield Trinity duo Tom Johnstone and Reece Lyne are among five uncapped players in a 24-man England squad to face France and New Zealand.

Johnstone was named in the Super League Dream Team on Monday and the wing's week got even better when he was called up by Wayne Bennett.

Centre Lyne is also set to make his debut either against France on October 17 or in a three-Test series against the Kiwis, which starts at the KCOM Stadium in Hull on October 27.

St Helens prop Luke Thompson, Wigan Warriors forward Joe Greenwood and Castleford Tigers forward Adam Milner are also in line to win their first caps.

Gareth Widdop, Kallum Watkins, Ryan Hall, Ben Currie, Alex Walmsley and James Roby are ruled out due to injury.
