The iconic monarch died peacefully at her home in Scotland aged 96 on Thursday.
Just hours after her death was confirmed, Manchester United and West Ham United players wore black armbands in their respective UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League matches, and Arsenal observed a minute's silence away at FC Zurich.
Other sports also suspended their action as a mark of respect, including the BMW PGA Golf Championship, the Tour of Britain, Scottish Rugby matches, and a cricket test match between England and South Africa.
The affected Premier League fixtures included a top-three clash between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, and a London derby between Fulham and Chelsea.
As a mark of respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, this weekend’s Premier League match round will be postponed.
