Ange Postecoglou says "there is no better place to start" winning in the Premier League again, as Tottenham gear up to face Arsenal in the North London derby.
Spurs travel to the Emirates Stadium without a win in four league matches, which has left them in 12th place.
Tottenham have also failed to win any of their last five meetings with Arsenal, while they have not beaten their rivals away in the Premier League since November 2010.
Nevertheless, the former Celtic boss is determined to get Spurs' season back on track with a positive result on Wednesday.
"I felt it was intense from the moment I arrived, but at the same time, I've never tried to be disingenuous about this stuff and say: 'this means the world to me' when I have literally just arrived," Postecoglou told reporters during his pre-match press conference.
"But you get the context of the game and what it means to the club, what it means to the supporters and also what it means for our season.
"From that perspective, right from the first time we played them, I was well aware. A bit like me being up in Glasgow, you are well aware of what it means, well aware of the ramifications - both the positive and the negative.
"I have been big on it from the first game, and this year is as big as they ever come, especially for us and our season. We need to start winning games in the league and there is no better place to start.
"With the position we are in the league at the moment, irrespective of turning points, we need to start winning games and moving up the table. Whilst it is a massive challenge for us tomorrow night, there is an opportunity for us to do that."
Postecoglou also revealed Timo Werner will miss the derby after sustaining a hamstring injury during Sunday's FA Cup victory over non-league Tamworth.
However, Richarlison will be available for Spurs.
