Malaysia's upcoming AFC Asian Cup qualifying match in Pyongyang on October 5 is in jeopardy after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a ban on Malaysians travelling to North Korea on Thursday.
According to their press statement, the decision was taken due to "the escalation of tensions in the Korean Peninsular and related developments arising from missile tests".
The travel ban will be reviewed once the situation has returned to normal.
The Football Association of Malaysia have yet to comment on the issue, but secretary-general Hamidin Amin previously said immediate changes will be made if there is any serious security concern.
