New Malaysian Super League trophy unveiled

Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) unveiled the new design for the Malaysian Super League trophy in Johor Bahru today.

With a diametre of 252mm and a height of 633mm and weighing 20kg, the trophy is made of pure gold, silver and copper.

According to Kevin Ramalingam, Chief Executive Officer of FMLLP, it had always been in the pipeline to have a new trophy design after the company were founded in 2015 to run the M-League.

"The new trophy marks a new era of Malaysian football and will become an aspiration of success for the 12 teams competing in the Super League," he said.

The new trophy will be presented to 2017 winners Johor Darul Ta'zim after their league match against Kelantan at the Larkin Stadium on September 20.
