The second gameweek of the 2018 unifi Malaysian Super League kicked off with Kelantan and Terengganu sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw, and a routine 3-0 win for Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) against newly promoted side PKNP.

Despite hoping to bounce back from a 2-1 defeat to Melaka United on Saturday, the Red Warriors got off to the worst possible start at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium as they conceded after just 30 seconds.

Terengganu striker Kipre Tchetche scored his third league goal in two matches as he connected with Ashari Samsudin's low cross to strike past Khairul Fahmi Che Mat.

Stunned by the early opener, the home side almost conceded again a minute later from another low cross from Ashari but Khairul Fahmi prevented it from reaching any Terengganu player this time.

After the shaky start, Kelantan slowly grew into the game and began to threaten Terengganu's goal.

In the 38th minute, the referee did not hesitate to point to the penalty spot for the hosts after Fitri Omar was adjudged to have brought down Nik Shahrul Azim during a free-kick situation.

Do Dong-hyun, who joined from Premier League side UiTM, stepped up to grab his first Malaysian top-flight goal and a point for Kelantan as chances were few and far between afterwards in the East Coast derby.

In Johor Bahru, a moment of brilliance from Natxo Insa finally broke down a stubborn PKNS.

The Spanish-born midfielder flicked a free kick from Safiq Rahim to set up Jorge Pereyra Diaz, who fired in his third goal in all competitions from close range in the 43rd minute.

Fadhli Shas headed in a Safiq corner around the hour mark to make it 2-0 before Insa got himself on the scoresheet in injury time.

From La'Vere Corbin-Ong's cross, Insa unleashed a left-footed half-volley that escaped the palms of the PKNP goalkeeper and sneaked into the back of the net.

The win allowed the Southern Tigers to momentarily climb to the top of the table over Selangor, who will face Melaka on Wednesday.
