Kylian Mbappe has been ruled out of Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League trip to RB Leipzig due to a hamstring problem.

The France forward was withdrawn in the second half of PSG's Ligue 1 win over Nantes on Saturday with head coach Thomas Tuchel describing that decision as a "precautionary measure".

Mbappe has been unable to train in the build-up to the Group H fixture, though, and consequently will not play a part at the Red Bull Arena.

In an injury update for the entire squad, PSG revealed Mbappe was out with "muscle discomfort" and will be reassessed in 48 hours, ahead of Saturday's home game against Rennes.

It marks a further blow for PSG; they are already without Brazil superstar Neymar due to an adductor injury. He is not expected to be back until after the upcoming international break.

Mauro Icardi is also missing for the game in Germany, as are midfield duo Marco Verratti and Julian Draxler.

PSG have three points from two fixtures thus far ahead of a big clash in Leipzig, losing their opener to Manchester United before rebounding against Istanbul Basaksehir.
