20-year-old M. Kavishkumar will be travelling to Japan for a trial with Gamba Osaka, Victoria Institution FC announced.
According to the club, it will be the former PKNS and MISC-MIFA trainee's second trial at the Japanese side, having previously trialled for their Under-23 team.
"We bid farewell and wish one of our own Victorians all the best of luck for his second trial with Gamba Osaka," read a Facebook statement from the club posted on Thursday.
"Kumar will undergo a one-month-plus trial programme with hope to be selected and sign a deal with the J1 League outfit.
"Kumar is one of our core players and was supposed to lead VIFC's attacking line in our upcoming KL Super League campaign.
"However, we know we couldn't stop him for pursuing bigger dreams and to play at the highest level."
Kavishkumar was also selected to train at Manchester United Soccer School (MUSS) Malaysia in 2014.
