Astro has secured broadcasting rights to the Premier League for three more seasons until the 2021/2022 season.

The new deal will see Astro, which has broadcast English top flight matches since 1997, continue to exclusively show all 380 matches every season in Malaysia.

"We are pleased to continue our longstanding partnership with Premier League to provide unrivalled coverage of the biggest and most exciting football league in the world," said Lee Choong Khay, Astro's Chief of Sports.

"With all 380 matches available live in HD on Astro TV and Astro GO, every football fan can catch every match and cheer for their favourite clubs."

On top of that, Lee also confirmed that Astro's Premier League broadcast in 4K UHD, which was announced earlier this year, will roll out very soon.

"We hope to excite sports customers by broadcasting selected live matches of the new season in 4K UHD.

"We look forward to roll out our 4K UHD offerings to provide the most premium and immersive sports viewing experience," he added.

Meanwhile. Richard Scudamore, Executive Chairman of the Premier League, was pleased to continue the partnership with Astro.

"Football fans in Malaysia are known for their passionate following of the Premier League and our clubs.

"Astro does an excellent job making the competition available to them on a range of platforms and we are very pleased they will continue as our exclusive broadcast partner until the end of the 2021/22 season," he commented.
