Asian Championships silver medal (2023)

Despite missing out on a gold medal by a whisker, securing a silver medal in Asia’s biggest individual event will be hailed as Ong-Teo’s biggest achievement.

The Malaysians were in sensational form to reach the final, after they secured big upsets over top pairs Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto and also Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi.

In the final against India’s Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty, Ong-Teo could have secured the win with a 15-11 lead in the deciding game.

But the Indian pair stormed back late on to secure victory and deny them victory.

World Championships bronze medal (2021)

Another memorable success this pair will reflect from their career is perhaps securing a medal at the 2021 world meet in Huelva, Spain.

Ong-Teo did it in style too, after they overcame reigning Tokyo Olympics champions Lee Yang-Wang Chi-lin in three pulsating games to do so.

Their feat at that time also meant the pair became the first Malaysian men’s doubles to secure a medal in 11-years.

Ong-Teo would go on to lose their semi-finals against Hoki-Kobayashi, but achieved a medal success nonetheless.

Thailand Masters champion (2020)

In their sole victory on the World Tour, Ong-Teo gifted themselves silverware when the world was on coronavirus lockdown by winning the Thailand Masters title.

They had done it in style too, coming from behind to beat Chinese pair Huang Kai Xiang-Liu Cheng.

That win ended the pair’s four-year drought for a title since they secured the lower-tier Bitburger Open title back in 2016.
