Chou Tien-chen has played the most men’s singles matches of all time, overtaking legends of the game such as Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan.
To date, the Chinese Taipei star has played in 923 matches since he began his professional career back in 2008.

That number overtakes Lee who played in 919 matches before announcing his retirement back in 2019.
Badminton’s all-time great Lin Dan ranks third after playing in 880 matches before he retired in 2020.
But what makes Chou’s record stand out is the fact he has never conceded a single pre-match walkover or a mid-match retirement.
This record is a testament to the 36-year-old’s longevity and professionalism.
Even more amazing is the fact Chou made a successful recovery after being diagnosed with early-stage colorectal cancer back in 2023.
On court, the devout Christian continues to prove that age is just a number.
Last year, he reached three finals’ and won the Arctic Open.
Chou’s record of 923 is set to increase at the on-going Badminton Asia Championships where he has advanced to the quarter-finals after his second round opponent Lu Guang Zu conceded a walk-over.
