Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei praised the Indonesian supporters after the reigning world champions created history by becoming the first Malaysian mixed doubles pair to win the Indonesia Masters on Sunday.

Chen-Toh came from a game down to beat Danish pair Mathias Christiansen-Alexandra Boje 15-21, 21-17, 21-11 in a 57-minute contest at the Istora Senayan.

Their achievement also confirms Malaysia’s first victory in a top-tier World Tour event in 2026.

More importantly, Chen-Toh also made history for themselves by becoming the first Malaysian pair to win this Super 500 event since its inception back in 2010.

“You fans have been absolutely outstanding to us. We do feel the pressure here especially when we play Indonesian opponents, so do give us some chance in the future,” the pair joked after winning their first title of 2026.

Chen-Toh needed to be patient and play the long game after they fell behind to a well playing Christiansen-Boje in the opening game.

The world number four pair were engaged in a point-for-point battle in the second game, until they upped the tempo after the interval to take the second game.

That rattled the Danes, and Chen-Toh applied the pressure throughout the deciding game to come away with the convincing victory.

Malaysia went on to secure a second title in women’s doubles after national pair Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah were awarded a walkover in their match against Japan’s Arisa Igarashi-Miyu Takahashi, after Takahashi were declared not match fit.

This means Malaysia secured two titles in a Super 500 event for the first time since last year’s Thailand Open when Tan-Thinaah and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik were both victorious.
