The world number two pair will end a long drought if they can win a mouth-watering final against South Korea's world number one pair Seo Seung-jae-Kim Won-ho on Sunday.
Goh V Shem-Lim Kim Wah were the last Malaysian pair to win this prestigious event back in 2014, and it will be a long-standing record if Chia-Soh can replicate that sucess.
They will need to be at their best to beat defending champions Seo-Kim in the final, but this 50-minute victory should give them plenty of belief.
Against Alfian-Fikri, Chia-Soh took the lead after winning a thrilling first game which saw them trail for most parts before taking the lead at 18-17.
Chia-Soh made it 20-18, but struggled to convert the final as their plucky opponents battled back to force deuce.
The Malaysians eventually held their nerve to convert the 23-21 win.
As expected, the second game took off at a frantic pace with the Indonesians leading 11-8 at the interval.
The game's turning point came at 12-12 as Chia-Soh produced a masterclass in defence as they answered all of the Indonesians smashes and won that priceless point to take a 13-12 lead.
After that the game swung in the Malaysians favour, who found the momentum needed to win 21-18 and send the crowd into delirium.
