What do Lin Dan, Usain Bolt & Jackie Chan have in common?

This trio, considered the greatest of all time in their respective worlds, are ambassadors of the EXPO 2027.

Lin became the latest high-profile ambassador to this event held in Serbia, joining the world’s fastest sprinter Bolt and legendary Hong Kong and Hollywood movie star Chan.

Earlier this month, Lin who is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and five-time world champion, visited the expo in Belgrade where he met members of Serbia’s national team shuttlers.

The Chinese superstar engaged in a match with Serbia’s national players, and Lin’s presence even attracted significant public and media attention.

The decision to engage Lin as an ambassador paid off, especially after it brought attention to a nation that is popular with basketball, tennis and water polo.

The EXPO 2027 aims to become the largest international event in the world next year by targeting at least four million visitors.

EXPO 2027 Director Danilo Jerinic expects Lin’s ambassador role to attract visitors from Asia.

“So far, 27 countries from Asia have confirmed their participation. It is important for us to have ambassador personalities whom audience in Asia recognizes and respect. Lin Dan is exactly that person, an athlete whose reputation, discipline and career go beyond badminton,” he said
