The wait to taste a first victory in 10-months continues for Lee Zii Jia, who suffered a second consecutive first round exit this year after he lost at the India Open.
Lee exited the Super 750 event after suffering a 13-21, 21-18, 18-21 defeat at the hands of Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke.

Last week, the world number 144 also lost in the opening round of the Malaysia Open.
The positive from this long-hour match is that the 27-year-old finally won a game since March last year when he won the first game against Angus Ng Ka Long at the All-England last year.
Against the world number 27 Remke, Lee conceded the first game but did well to use his attacking prowess to level the scores with a 21-18 win.
In the deciding match, he had the chance to record his first victory in 10-months after levelling the scores to 17-17, but two unforced errors meant he was left to trail 17-19 which paved the way for Gemke to secure victory.
Lee’s last competitive victory came since he beat India’s K.Srikanth at the Orleans Masters in March last year.
The India Open is also the first time Liew Daren officially takes over as Lee’s coach, taking over from Yeoh Kay Bin who leaves to join the Badminton Association of Malaysia.
