Malaysia’s track cycling star, Datuk Azizulhasni Awang, finally ended his long wait by winning the men’s keirin gold medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The race took place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome early this morning.
Australia’s Leigh Hoffman won the silver medal, while England’s Harry Ledingham took bronze.
Azizulhasni, also known as “The Pocket Rocketman”, won a bronze medal at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. This is the first Commonwealth Games gold medal of his career.
Another Malaysian rider, Muhammad Shah Firdaus Sahrom, missed out on the final after finishing fourth in the second semi-final.
