Top seeds Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei made it to the Australian Open quarter-finals, along with men’s doubles pairs Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin.
Chen-Toh had skipped two tournaments prior to this Super 500 event due to a shoulder injury suffered by Chen, but the shuttler looked to be back at his best by combining with Toh to great effect.

The reigning world champions needed only 30-minutes to see off the challenge of Chinese Taipei pair Liu Kuang-heng-Jheng Yu-chieh 21-16, 21-14.
The world number four will next face another pair from Chinese Taipei in the last eight.
Like Chen-Toh, their national compatriots Man-Tee also recorded a dominant straight game victory, beating Danish pair Christian Kjaer-Rasmus Kjaer 21-11, 21-16.
The world number five were untroubled throughout their 28-minute win, putting pressure on their opponents with precise shot placements to secure the comfortable success.
Another pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin, meanwhile, had to come from a game down before beating Chinese Taipei pair Liu Kuang-heng-Yang Po-han 21-23, 21-17, 21-10.
The second seeds will next face the Malaysian-South Korean pairing of Goh V Shem-Choi Sol-gyu.
National women’s singles shuttler Wong Ling Ching meanwhile lost to Canada’s Michelle Li 16-21, 11-21, a week after beating her at last week’s Kumamoto Masters.
