National women's doubles pair Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah have not only matched their best All-England result after reaching the quarter-finals, but did so in style.
The world number two pair, who have been tipped to go all the way in this prestigious Super 1000 event, overcame South Korea’s Lee Seo-jin-Lee Yeon-woo 21-14, 21-14.

Beyond their straightforward victory, the confidence Tan-Thinaah displayed throughout the 43-minute contest hints that this could be the year they achieve a breakthrough.
In the first game, Tan showed off two sublime skills.
First, the 25-year-old completely deceived both her opponents with a deceptive return to the right side of the court to earn a 13-7 lead.
Her return completely stunned both Lee’s who were standing on the same side of the court.
Next, Tan tried another flamboyant return when she made a 360 degree pirouette to return a shot.
It was an unbelievable return, and eventhough she could not retrieve the following shot, the Malaysians comfortably won 21-14.
Thinaah, who proved a steady defender of the shuttle to frustrate the South Koreans, produced her own moment of magic in the second game with a decisive cross-court winner to left both her opponents stunned.
Tan-Thinaah, who have now won their opening two matches in straight games, will be assured of repeating the same dominant performance when they face Indonesian pair Febriana Kusuma-Meilysa Trias for a place in the semi-finals early Saturday morning.
