Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei
The national mixed doubles pair ended their World Tour season by clinching their first title after winning last week’s Australian Open.
Chen-Toh were impressive throughout the tournament, winning all their duels in straight games including the one-sided final victory over Indonesian pair Jafar Hidayatullah-Felisha Pasaribu.
The reigning world champions will be aiming to produce the same display in China and go one better than the silver medal they won last year.
Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai
The 2025 season has not been the best for this husband-wife pairing, who did not make it into any final of the World Tour competitions.
Still, the world number nine pair were consistent enough to reach the quarter-finals 11-times, which proved enough for them to qualify for this lucrative season-finale.
Goh-Lai are, however, expected to have a tough time in a competitive field that contains Chinese pairs Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping and Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin as well as Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran.
Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah
The most successful Malaysian pair of the five, Tan-Thinaah will head to the WTF looking to complete their season with a fourth silverware.
The world number two pair have shown great form recently by clinching two titles in two months. First they won the Arctic Open in October, and they duly followed up with the Japan Masters success two weeks ago.
The biggest obstacle for Tan-Thinaah would be China’s world champions Tan Ning-Liu Sheng Shu, whom they are expected to face in the final.
Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik
With three titles and three runner-up finishes, Chia-Soh remain one of the strongest contenders in the men’s doubles.
Their consistency and ability to turn up in big matches will dictate if they can reign supreme in this highly talented and competitive men’s doubles affair.
World champions Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae (South Korea), Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto (Indonesia) and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty (India) will pose the biggest threats to Chia-Soh in China.
Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun
Man-Tee inclusion came as a surprise, with many predicting that professional pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin would accompany Chia-Soh as the two highest ranked Malaysian pairs to Hangzhou.
But this national pair have shown they are not here to make up the numbers.
With two titles at the Indonesia Masters and Malaysia Masters, it is evident this world number five pair have what it takes to win.
They are dark horses in a star-studded men’s doubles line-up, and will be out to create shockwaves when the action commences.
