Danica Patrick's final NASCAR race of her career came to an end on Lap 101 of Sunday's Daytona 500 after getting caught up in a hard crash along with Chase Elliott, Kevin Harvick, race-favorite Brad Keselowski and others.

With 19 laps remaining in Stage 2, the second "Big One" of the day was initiated when Keselowski, running third, got a huge push and tried to go around Elliott on the bottom of the 2.5-mile restrictor-plate track. Elliott tried to block Keselowski and the two made contact, sending the No. 9 of Elliott hard into the wall, catching Patrick and Kasey Kahne in the process.

"I didn't make the right move," Elliott told Fox Sports after the wreck.

The multi-car accident was the second major wreck of the day after Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones, William Byron, Daniel Suarez, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr and Ty Dillon were all caught up in an accident on Lap 60 (end of Stage 1).

Patrick ends her career with 64 laps led with seven top-10 finishes in just over five full seasons in NASCAR. Despite the mediocre finishes, Patrick has been a trailblazer in the male-dominated sport. She owns the most starts, laps led, and top 10s among women in NASCAR history.

Patrick will race in May's Indianapolis 500 for the final race of her motorsports career.
