Warrington Wolves 14-27 Hull FC: Black and Whites secure semi-final place

Hull FC saw off Warrington Wolves 27-14 on Thursday to progress into the second round of the Super League play-offs.

Hull finished sixth on win percentage in the regular season, which was curtailed to ensure a six-team finish to the campaign.

In the first of two eliminator matches – with Leeds Rhinos facing Catalans Dragons on Friday – it was Hull, whose KCOM Stadium will host this year's showpiece Grand Final rather than Old Trafford, who prevailed at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Chasing a fifth win in six games, Hull had the lead at the break thanks to two conversions and a drop-goal from Marc Sneyd, with Bureta Faraimo and Joe Cator having gone over either side of tries from Anthony Gelling and Matty Ashton.

Sneyd was on point with the boot again after the break, adding the extras to Chris Satae's try, though Ashton's second four-pointer – teed up by the impressive Blake Austin – brought Warrington back into it.

Hull ultimately had too much, however, with Andy Last's side wrapping up the win thanks to late try from Jake Connor, and they will now face Wigan Warriors for a place in the final.
