Vince, Curran star as Sixers trounce Heat to move second

Two England internationals excelled as Sydney Sixers trounced Brisbane Heat by 79 runs to move second in the Big Bash League table.
The Sixers' total of 177-7 owed much to James Vince, who compiled 75 from 46 balls and received able support from Jordan Silk (41 from 26).
Tom Curran was then the pick of the Sixers attack, returning 3-16 from four overs as the Heat were skittled for just 98 in reply.
Sean Abbott (3-18) and Lloyd Pope (2-19) also impressed with the ball for the victors, the latter claiming his first BBL wickets, while Brisbane's defeat was harsh on Josh Lalor, who returned 5-26 to no avail.

VINCE MAKES MOST OF GOOD LUCK
Vince accelerated superbly in an innings that featured six fours and two maximums, targeting the short boundary at the SCG, but the number three did enjoy some good fortune along the way.
Brendan Doggett failed to take a skier at deep backward square-leg when Vince was on 31 and the same fielder was guilty of a second drop later in the innings.
Vince was reprieved on 59 when Doggett put down a chance in the deep, the batsman duly rubbing salt in the wounds by clearing the midwicket boundary off Mitchell Swepson's next delivery.

HEAT NEVER IN THE HUNT
To describe Brisbane's run-chase as disappointing would be an understatement.
The visitors never got going and were soon well behind the required run-rate.
Brendon McCullum and Ben Cutting made 27 and 28 respectively, but neither man could score quickly and the other batsmen all made swift exits as the Sixers attack excelled.
The Heat are now seventh in the table and need to find form quickly.
