Jalen Brunson is joining teammate Mikal Bridges in his quest to the pros.

The Villanova junior guard on Wednesday announced he will forego his final year of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.

"After careful consideration and prayer, I have decided to enter the June NBA draft and hire an agent," Brunson wrote in an essay for ESPN.com.

Brunson, who was honored as the consensus NCAA player of the year for the national champion Wildcats, was also named the Big East Player of the Year and took home the Naismith National Player of the Year award this season.

"While I pride myself on remaining disciplined and focused to achieve these goals, I have grown as a man and have established lifelong relationships with my teammates, classmates, members of the basketball staff, fellow student-athletes and the wonderful educators and administrators of this prestigious university," Brunson said.

Brunson, 21, averaged 18.9 points, 4.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds for Villanova this season as the team rolled through the NCAA Tournament to earn their second championship in three seasons.

He is projected to be a first-round pick.
