University of Texas-El Paso head basketball coach Tim Floyd retired from his position immediately after Monday's 66-52 loss to Lamar.
Floyd had been with UTEP since 2010. He had previously coached at USC, Iowa State, New Orleans and Idaho in college, and the New Orleans Hornets and Bulls in the NBA. He had a 90-231 career NBA coaching record.
Floyd's departure continued a complete overhaul from the Miners' athletics, with former athletics director and football coach Sean Kugler resigning Oct. 1 after an 0-5 start.
Jim Senter was named UTEP's new AD last week.
