Toronto Wolfpack will be the first North American side to play in Super League next season after beating Featherstone Rovers 24-6 in the Million Pound Game on Saturday.

London Broncos denied Toronto a place in the top flight by defeating them in the Championship Grand Final last year, but the two clubs will swap places in 2020.

The Wolfpack won the League 1 title in their first season in English rugby two years ago and completed their rise to Super League at the expense of Featherstone at the Lamport Stadium

Just two days after it was confirmed that the winners of the showdown in Toronto would be allowed into the top tier, Brian McDermott's side came from behind to secure victory.

Alex Sutcliffe's try, converted by Dane Chisholm, put Rovers in front but Josh McCrone's score reduced the deficit to two points at half-time.

Toronto bossed the second half an a historic day, Blake Wallace, Bodene Thompson and Joe Mellor crossing to bring a transatlantic feel to Super League.
