In a surprising move on Saturday, the Thunder released 25-year-old shooting guard Alex Abrines, according to The Athletic.

The Thunder guard has been waived so he can devote more time to a personal matter, according to the Oklahoman.
Abrines is averaging 5.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 2018-19.
He has played in two games since Dec. 23.
He was in the final season of a three-year, $17.2 million deal.
