Paul George revealed Thursday that he has been dealing with a nerve issue that he called "dead foot."

The 28-year-old forward told reporters after the Thunder's 111-107 win over the Hornets that he suffered an injury during the team’s third preseason game against Atlanta. As a result, George said, he has peroneal nerve palsy in his left foot, which can cause numbness in the foot and weakness in the ankles and feet.

“I’m just trying to play through that,” George told reporters. “It’s nothing that’s major. It’s nothing that’s going to hurt me. It’s just something that’s going to come back when it feels right I guess.”

George broke his right leg in the summer of 2014 while scrimmaging with USA Basketball and he missed time in May for an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee. He is optimistic that his latest foot problem will not keep him off the court.

"I've had one of the worst injuries possible, so nothing else is going to sideline me," George added, referring to the broken leg. "It's just fun to be out there."

George is averaging 23.4 points, with 7.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists over seven games, but he's shooting just 38.5 percent from the field and 29.2 percent from 3-point range.
