Argentina exacted their revenge over Malaysia with a 3-2 win in the 2018 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup third-place play-off, while Australia emerged victorious for the 10th time.
The South Americans, who lost 2-1 to the Speedy Tigers in the pool stage, got off to a perfect start as Juan Lopez scored from open play in the first minute before Gonzalo Peillat doubled their lead with a penalty corner goal in the 11th minute.
Down 2-0 at the start of the second quarter, the hosts drew level before the half-time with Joel Samuel and Faizal Saari finding the back of the net.
Despite an evenly matched second half, Argentina had the last laugh as Pedro Ibarra grabbed a 49th-minute winner.

The close third-place play-off finish served as an exciting prelude to the 2018 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, with Australia beating England 2-1 to lift the trophy for the 10th time since the tournament's inception.
England, who were in their first Sultan Azlan Shah Cup final since 1994, had a better start with several close chances but it was the Kookaburras who broke the deadlock with Blake Govers's 38th-minute penalty corner goal.
Lachlan Sharp made it 2-0 in the 53rd minute before Samuel Ward pegged one back a minute later to set up a nervous finish, but the world no.1 team hung on for the win.

Meanwhile, in the fifth-place play-off, India strolled to a 4-1 win over Ireland with Varun Kumar grabbing a brace of penalty corner goals.
Shilanand Larka and Gurjant Singh were the Asian champions' other scorers, while Julian Dale scored a consolation for the Irish with their only shot of the day.
