The Johor Jewels won the second edition of the sooka Netball Super League (NSL) after overcoming defending champions KL Wildcats 50-40 in the final at the Juara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

In doing so, they exacted revenge of last year's final defeat when they lost 47-58.

Led by goal-shooter An Najwa Azizan, the southern team began aggressively and netted eight consecutive points before Kuala Lumpur got on the scoresheet.

Johor, who had a perfect record in the regular season, dominated the first quarter 17-8 and extended their advantage in the second quarter with a 14-12 run.

After the half-time break, the Wildcats stepped up their intensity and managed to reduce the deficit to five points, but their poor finishing and turnovers saw the Jewels seal the victory.

Meanwhile, the Selangor Angels finished third for the second consecutive season after defeating the Pahang Tulips 69-66 in an earlier match.

Kuala Lumpur's rising starlet Pavitrah A/P Sathiaseelan bagged the Best Young Player award and Pahang's Siti Maisarah Affandi was crowned the Best Shooter.
