Selangor recorded yet another big win in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League (MPFL) on Sunday as they continued their winning start to the season.

The Red Giants demolished home side Penang 6-0 at the Azman Hashim USM Sports Arena with Azri Rahman giving the league leaders an early lead.

Ikhmal Kamarulzaman's 10th minute penalty miss for Penang, which could've levelled the game 1-1, proved to be crucial, as Selangor went on to score five more goals through Azri, Akmal Hakimi, Hafiz Ramle, Syed Aizad and Sufri Shamil.

The winning margin could've been larger, especially after the sending off of Penang's Fakhrul Islam, had Selangor not missed four of their five penalties.

At the Indera Mulia Stadium in Ipoh on the same day, Perak escaped an embarassing defeat in front of their fans with a 4-4 draw against KL City.

Despite taking the lead three times through Razin Rahim, Firdaus Zulkefli and Zakry Asraf, the Silver State allowed their opponents to peg back each time with goals from Muzhaffar Tahar (two) and Iza Hassan.

Muzhaffar looked to seal a famous comeback win for KL City with his third of the night in the 28th minute, but Farikh Khabibor struck in the dying minutes to ensure honours were even.

Speaking of comebacks, Melaka managed to pull it off on Saturday as they recorded a 4-3 victory against Kedah at the Panasonic Shah Alam Sports Complex.

Despite falling 3-0 behind, they scored four in the final 16 minutes with a brace from Erzuan Gapar and a goal apiece from Saad Sani and Ekmal Shahrin to complete an unlikely comeback win.

Also on Saturday, Hafiz Ismail's hat-trick capped off Terengganu's 6-0 win over Kuala Lumpur at the Kuala Terengganu State Stadium.

Aizat Saari's brace and Idham Shafuan's penalty completed the thrashing to ease the Turtles into second on the league table, two points behind Selangor.
