Muay Thai events at the 2019 SEA Games will not begin on time due to logistics issues.
Initially scheduled to take place from Tuesday to Sunday at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center, the events will now start on Wednesday instead.
According to Malaysian Muaythai Federation president Shahnaz Azmi, the postponement was unavoidable to assist host nation Philippines.
"We need to postpone the events by a day to help the hosts prepare the venue.
"Besides that, plane tickets for judges are still not sorted out, so they are not here yet.
"Many of the equipments have also not arrived, so we have decided to postpone it for a day," he told Astro Arena.
