SEA Games: Lego Sam crowned inaugural breakdancing king

Sam Jee Lek became the first-ever winner of the men's breakdancing event at the 2019 SEA Games on Sunday.

It was Malaysia's second gold medal in the Philippines after wushu practitioner Loh Choon How clinched a win in the men's Taijiquan event earlier on the same day.

Better known as Lego Sam, the 24-year-old recently finished 20th at the 2019 World Breaking Championships in Nanjing, China.

Breakdancing was included as one of the dancesport events at the SEA Games for the first time this year.

Meanwhile, other dancesport events were largely dominated by Filipino dancers, with mixed pair Jarell Cheong Tze Wen and Koh Jinnee only managing to finish fifth in Slow Foxtrot and Waltz events.
