Salford Red Devils needed two late tries to survive a Toronto Wolfpack comeback and win 24-16 on Saturday.
Gary Wheeler's early try put Toronto ahead but scores from Kevin Brown and Tui Lolohea eased the home side ahead at AJ Bell Stadium.
Rhys Williams went over after a 70-metre sprint to make it 16-4 eight minutes into the second half, but Wheeler got his second before Brad Singleton drew Toronto level.
Salford, who lost their season-opener to St Helens, responded in style with a try apiece for Dan Sarginson and Niall Evalds in the space of two minutes.
