The Toronto Raptors will again be without Scottie Barnes for several weeks after the All-Star swingman sustained a right ankle injury in Monday’s loss to the New York Knicks.
Barnes was hurt while battling for a rebound about halfway through the third quarter and was unable to put any weight on his foot when exiting the court.
It's been an injury-plagued season for Barnes, who previously missed 11 games due to a right orbital fracture.
Toronto signed the 2022 NBA Rookie of the Year to a five-year contract extension in July that could be worth up to $270million after he became a first-time All-Star last season.
Barnes set personal bests in 2023-24 with 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.47 assists per game.
He’s been even better this season when healthy, averaging 20.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 7.4 assists in 14 games.
