Pro beach volleyball player jumps to his death from Atlantic City hotel

Pro beach volleyball player Eric Zaun has been identified by police as the man who jumped to his death from the 29th floor of an Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino hotel (per News12 New Jersey).

Zaun was 25.

The Association of Volleyball Professionals confirmed his death on social media.

"The AVP is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Eric Zaun. … He will be deeply missed," the AVP said, in part, on Instagram.

Zaun's body was found Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City after the resident of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, apparently leapt to his death.

Zaun was the AVP Rookie of the Year in 2017.

According to his AVP bio, Zaun played for Limestone College in South Carolina before moving to Southern California to pursue a beach volleyball career.
