Anthony Davis is focusing on the present.

The 25-year-old star big man has been at the center of multiple trade rumors over the last few seasons. But, Davis told ESPN he is only thinking about helping the struggling 14-15 Pelicans turn it around.

“I'm just focused on this team,” Davis said. “I'm trying to do whatever I can to help this team get wins with the roster we have. It's been a rocky season, so it's on me to try to figure it out."

The five-time All-Star is averaging 27.4 points and 12.2 rebounds in 36.8 minutes per game in 2018-19. He said he knows “the team follows” him.

"I've got to be the one to make sure that we're ready to play every night,” Davis said. “So, for me, I just go out there and play with this team and go out there and try to have fun and get wins. That's all I'm worried about is getting wins for this team and hopefully we can get further than we did last year."

The Pelicans have dealt with multiple injuries to rotation players this season. Davis said he believes the team will bounce back once it's healthy.

"Every time we've had a full roster, we've been a tough team to beat,” Davis said. “But we still have to find a way to win. Injuries are part of the game, you can't control them. That's why we have 12 guys on the roster.”

The Pelicans will host the Thunder on Wednesday.
