OG Anunoby could be nearing his return to the court.

The 21-year-old forward has been upgraded to questionable for Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Warriors, the team announced Wednesday. Anunoby has not played since undergoing an emergency appendectomy in mid-April.

In a surprise, Raptors list OG Anunoby as QUESTIONABLE for Game 1.

“It’s been hard not being able to play,” Anunoby told reporters Wednesday. “But I’ve still been just supporting my team. Then, just watching a lot of film and watching the guys play. I’m learning a lot.”

Anunoby averaged 7.0 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.2 minutes per game in 2018-19. He shot 45.3 percent from the field and 33.2 percent from 3-point range.

"(Not being able to play) is boring," Anunoby said. "But, you can't control it."

Anunoby is also a versatile defender capable of guarding multiple positions. He should help the Raptors match up more effectively with Golden State's perimeter threats.

"Just be able to switch on defense, and offensively to be able to shoot and pass," Anunoby said about his potential role in the series.

Game 1 between the Raptors and Warriors will tip off Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
