The NS Matrix blew the Guangzhou Securities apart to win 93-79 in the 2017 Seri Mutiara Cup on Wednesday.
Despite falling behind 19-24 in the first quarter, the hosts outscored the defending champions in each of the remaining quarters to secure the win.
The Malaysian team also played a composed game, giving away the ball only seven times as opposed to the Chinese side's 20 turnovers.
Keith Hornsby, who grabbed 47 points in a 100-91 win over Taiwan's Fubon Braves in the Matrix's first game, continued his impressive form as he scored 36 on 13-of-15 field goals, while Jeff Viernes contributed 17 from the bench.
The Matrix will look to extend their winning run in Thursday's game against Croatian side KK Split, who lost 89-90 to the Braves.
