Nicol David has been nominated for the World Games' Greatest Athlete of All Time award.

The Malaysian squash queen, who called time on her professional career in 2019, is the only Asian among the 24 athletes shortlisted for the honour.

The 37-year-old memorably won three gold medals and one bronze at the World Games, which hosts non-Olympic sports and events such as squash, floorball, lacrosse, sumo and Muay Thai.

At the time of writing, she is leading the way ahead of the likes of the Brazil women's beach handball team, racquetball player Paola Longoria, Muay Thai fighter Sofia Olofsson, and roller skater Fabriana Arias.

In 2018, she was voted by fans as the greatest female squash player of all time.
