DeMarcus Cousins is set to become the latest All-Star to join the Warriors, according to multiple reports, but he almost went to a different team this offseason.

According to ESPN, The Pelicans and Trail Blazers had discussed a sign-and-trade for Cousins, but hit a roadblock because Jusuf Nurkic and Cousins have the same agent.

ESPN Sources: Portland and New Orleans had discussed the possibility of a sign-and-trade for DeMarcus Cousins, but a road block existed since he shares the same agent as RFA Jusuf Nurkic.

Apparently the move had built enough steam that current Trail Blazers players expected to have Boogie as a teammate next season.

McCollum is one half of Portland's dynamic backcourt — split with Damian Lillard — and the duo have been in desperate need of frontcourt help during their time together.

But instead of trying to help the Trail Blazers, Cousins opted to take a reported one-year deal with the Warriors to try and secure his first NBA championship.
