The Grizzlies are looking to move Chandler Parsons.
Memphis is working to find a trade that would send the 30-year-old forward elsewhere, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources. The team has been unwilling to attach a future first-round pick with Parsons in a deal but are “open to accepting a longer-term contract” in exchange for him, the report says.
Parsons left the team and the sides agreed to part ways last weekend. He still has $38 million remaining on the four-year deal he signed in July 2016. That contract runs through the end of 2019-20.
"I am extremely disappointed that I didn't get to finish this season alongside my teammates and the Memphis coaching staff," Parsons told ESPN. "Unfortunately, that option wasn't presented to me.
“I will continue to work out and train until my agent and the team reach a resolution. I am ready to play and committed to getting back on the court."
The eight-year veteran has struggled with injuries throughout his career and he hasn’t played since Oct. 22 because of a knee issue. Parsons, however, said he’s healthy and has been cleared to return since Dec. 21.
Parsons averaged 5.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game over three appearances before he was shut down with the knee injury.
