NBA playoffs 2019: Marc Gasol blames himself for Raptors' Game 2 loss

The Raptors got off to a poor start against the Bucks in Game 2 and it never really got any better as they fell 125-103 on Friday.

Toronto center Marc Gasol blamed himself for the team's first quarter and eventual loss where the Raptors now trail the Bucks 2-0 in the series.

Milwaukee started on a 9-0 run while Gasol went 0 for 4 to start.

"The beginning (of the game) set us in a really bad spot," Gasol said. "We couldn't get a grip of the game early on, and I take full responsibility for that."

Gasol finished with just two points on 1-for-9 shooting from the field. He is now just 3 for 20 through the first two games of the Eastern Conference final.

"I played really bad, and that set the tone," Gasol added.

Gasol, who the Raptors acquired in February, played 19 minutes Friday and only five were logged in the second half. He was replaced in favor of Serge Ibaka, who didn't have a great outing either.

In fact, Ibaka could be moved into the lineup after Gasol's performance in the postseason.

Coach Nick Nurse hinted at a lineup change, saying Saturday, "I think there could be more than one lineup change coming at us."

"I feel bad for him," Nurse said of Gasol. "Most of those went in and out. It's like, he's a really good player, a really good scorer. He was taking good shots and just couldn't buy one.

"I even said it (at) the first timeout. I think he was about 1 for 5 or 6 at the first timeout, and I said, let's go to him and get him a bucket and maybe he can see one go in. Again, they were good shots."

Toronto will host Milwaukee for Game 3 at the Scotiabank Arena on Sunday.
