The Pacers are targeting Doug McDermott and Joe Harris in free agency, according to a report from ESPN.

Indiana had been looking to add guard Will Barton, but he is expected to re-sign with the Nuggets when the free agency period begins Sunday, the report says.

Barton has been a strong focus for the Pacers, who would pivot and search for perimeter free agent help elsewhere. Doug McDermott and Joe Harris are potential Pacers targets, league sources tell ESPN. https://t.co/gSQJnuIJT5

McDermott, who was a standout collegiately at Creighton, has played for four teams in his four-year career. He began last season with the Knicks before he was sent to the Mavericks in a three-team trade.

The 26-year-old forward has averaged 7.9 points per game and shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range in 264 career appearances.

Harris played in just 56 games with the Cavaliers from 2014-16 but he has been a valuable role player for the Nets over the last two seasons. He averaged 10.8 points per game and knocked down 41.9 percent of his 3-pointers in 2017-18.

The Pacers finished last season with a 48-34 record and earned the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They pushed the Cavaliers to a Game 7 but were ultimately eliminated in the first round after a 105-101 loss in Cleveland.
