NBA free agency rumors: Pacers signing Doug McDermott
The Pacers are signing Doug McDermott to a three-year, $22 million contract, according to ESPN.
McDermott, who was a standout collegiately at Creighton, has played for four teams in his four-year career. He began last season with the Knicks before he was sent to the Mavericks in a three-team trade.
The 26-year-old forward has averaged 7.9 points and shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range in 264 career appearances.
The Pacers had also been targeting Joe Harris but he agreed Sunday to a two-year, $16 million contract with the Nets, according to ESPN.
Harris played in just 56 games with the Cavaliers from 2014-16 but he was a valuable role player for Brooklyn the last two seasons. He averaged 10.8 points and knocked down 41.9 percent of his 3-pointers in 2017-18.
The Pacers finished last season with a 48-34 record and earned the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. They pushed the Cavaliers to a Game 7 but were ultimately eliminated in the first round after a 105-101 loss in Cleveland.
