Middleton was named to his first All-Star team last season despite taking a small step back in scoring (18.3 points per game vs. 20.1 in 2017-18) with Mike Budenholzer taking over the team.
He averaged a career-high in rebounds (6.0) and assists (4.3) and remained very efficient at putting the ball in the bucket, as he has shot better than 45% from the field, 38% from the 3-point line and 87% from the free-throw line in his career.
Middleton did decline his $13 million player option for next season, but had always planned on returning to the team, according to multiple reports.
