Jamal Crawford has opted not to exercise his player option with the Timberwolves, Yahoo Sports reported.
Crawford declined the $4.5 million option ahead of Monday's deadline and will become a free agent.
Crawford, 38, finished his 18th season in the NBA after he joined the Timberwolves during last offseason on a two-year contract.
This past year he averaged 10.3 points per game over 80 games, making him one of the best reserves to hit free agency.
Overall, the three-time Sixth Man of the Year has a career average of 15 points, 3.4 assists and 2.3 rebounds per game.
